ARTIST STATEMENT
C.M.J’s practice is rooted in the relationships between color and organic shapes, creating illusionary effects that enhance the visual experience. Through an intuitive process, she balances vibrant hues, finding contrast and harmony within each composition, allowing the elements to develop naturally and evolve on their own.
As she explores both the unknown dimensions of her mind and her surroundings, she aims to capture the essence of space’s ever-changing nature and the energies that shape it. Her shapes and colors represent the flow of energy—be it emotional, spiritual, or physical—reflecting her personal experiences and the dynamic forces around her. These forms embody the search for place and meaning in a universe that is in constant flux.
In her work, she embraces both perfection and imperfection, recognizing beauty in both. By simplifying these elements into complex yet straightforward compositions, she creates a visual rhythm where color, shape, and energy are in constant motion. This balance speaks to the emotional and psychological dimensions of the human experience, evoking introspection and connection with the energies that define our existence.
